XAUUSD Entry, Stop-Loss & Take-Profit: Anatomy of a Gold Signal

Every Aurum Desk gold signal is four numbers: entry, stop-loss, and a take-profit ladder. This post dissects a real XAUUSD signal level by level — why each number sits where it sits, what it demands from you, and how four numbers carry an entire risk philosophy.

The entry: a location, not a prophecy

Entries anchor to structure — a support shelf, a session level, a retest — never to round-number vibes. The entry answers 'where is this idea valid?'. Discipline it demands from you: if price has already run 15+ pips past entry when your alert lands, the location is gone and the skip rule applies — chasing converts our plan into your improvisation.

The stop-loss: the only number that protects you

The SL sits where the idea is objectively wrong — beyond the structure, outside normal volatility noise. It is deliberately honest rather than cosmetic: tight enough to respect, wide enough to survive spread. Two duties on your side: the stop goes into the platform WITH the order (mental stops are how drawdowns become disasters), and the stop distance drives your size via the 1% rule and calculator — distance x size = your 1%.

The TP ladder: profit as a process

TP1 near structure banks certainty early; TP2-TP3 ride the move's potential. The ladder is a profit-taking process: partial at TP1, stop to entry as announced, remainder rides risk-free. One target forces all-or-nothing psychology; a ladder converts gold's volatility into staged, survivable wins. Our record counts these honestly — additive banked pips per level.

Reading a live example

XAUUSD BUY - entry 4,027 - SL 4,018 - TP 4,032 / 4,038 / 4,047. Nine dollars of risk, laddered reward to twenty. If 4,027 was a retest shelf, the stop sits under it beyond noise; TP1 banks at the prior high; the pips only count when live spot actually prints the levels. Every signal we publish reads exactly this way — see the format live with a free account or the gold signals overview.
